スーベニアジャケット、通称「スカジャン」は戦後間もない頃、日本に駐留していたアメリカ軍兵士の記念品として、鷲・虎・龍などのオリエンタルな柄や、兵士の所属していた部隊などをジャケットに刺繍したのが始まりです。

その発祥に関わったのが、東洋エンタープライズの前身である港商(港商商会)です。

「テーラー東洋」は1940年代の港商から始まり、1965年に設立された東洋エンタープライズのスカジャンレーベルして、その歴史と経験を継承し続けています。

この製品には、1940年代から1950年代にかけて、東洋エンタープライズの前身となる港商(港商商会)が制作したスーベニアジャケットの素材・縫製・ファスナーなどを当時のままに再現したボディが使用されています。

一方でこのスカジャンの刺繍デザインは実在した柄ではなく、東洋エンタープライズによって新たに起こされた新柄です。

2020年の東京と、東洋エンタープライズの設立年である1965年当時の東京の景色をリバーシブルの表裏にそれぞれ刺繍で配したオリジナル柄のスペシャルエディションモデルです。

本製品は当時のままに再現しているため非常にデリケートな製品です。

素材：スペシャルエディションは当時と同じ規格で作られていますため、生地の打ち込みが非常に甘くデリケートに織られています。

染色(染め)も現在主流の反応染料ではなく、当時と同じ顔料染料で染められており、色も均一に染まらず、色ムラ、色落ち、色焼けによる変色が起きる素材です。

ウールのリブに関しても、当時と同じ規格で旧式の横編み機を使用して、1着分ずつ手作業で編んでおります。

このリブは縮みやすく又、伸びやすく、防虫加工のされていないウールリブですので取り扱いには注意が必要です。

ファスナー：50年以上前のファスニング機械をこのジャケットのために整備しなおし再稼働させ、当時と同じ手曲げ作りのファスナーを再現しています。

現在のファスナーに比べ、開発途上のファスナーであり、ファスナーテープも綿製です。
